About Rylan

I have been teaching ESL for 13 years, guiding 150-200 high school and college students in developing their English skills. Teaching is not just my profession—it is my passion and my way of helping students achieve confidence, communication skills, and academic success.

I focus on interactive, practical, and personalised lessons that combine speaking, writing, reading, and listening exercises. I use real-life examples and discussions to make learning meaningful while encouraging students to express themselves confidently and independently.

Some of my proudest moments include students speaking fluently for the first time, improving exam results, writing confidently, and participating actively in discussions. These milestones remind me why teaching ESL is so rewarding and inspire me to continue making lessons impactful and enjoyable.

I aim to create a positive, supportive, and motivating environment where students feel comfortable learning, making mistakes, and exploring the language. Teaching ESL is my passion, and I am committed to helping students succeed while fostering a lifelong love of English.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology combines practical learning, motivation, and adaptability. I use real-life examples and case studies to make lessons relatable and meaningful, helping students communicate effectively in daily life, academics, and professional situations.

I emphasise motivation, encouraging students to stay curious, set realistic goals, and celebrate progress. I also focus on problem-solving, guiding learners to overcome difficulties in speaking, writing, reading, and listening through structured guidance.

Integrity is at the heart of my approach. I provide honest feedback, maintain transparency, and create a safe, respectful learning environment. I also practise flexibility, tailoring lessons to each student’s pace, interests, and learning style.

In addition to ESL, I teach related subjects such as communication skills, study strategies, and cultural knowledge. My aim is to help students gain confidence, independence, and practical English skills they can use in real life.
