About Lungisa
I am a Fine Art and English graduate with a strong background in academic writing, critical thinking, and creative practice. I work with high school and university students, as well as emerging creatives, who need clear, practical support with writing and art practice.
My interest in tutoring comes from an understanding that many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because they are unsure how to structure their thinking or express their ideas clearly. I focus on helping students develop confidence, clarity, and independence in their work.
I support students with essay writing, academic English, research and critical writing, creative writing, and art practice. This includes concept development, portfolio preparation, and artist statements. My approach is calm, supportive, and structured, with lessons adapted to each student’s level and goals.
I offer both online and in-person lessons, depending on the student’s location and needs. In-person sessions are ideal for students who prefer face-to-face support, portfolio reviews, or guided working sessions. Online lessons are structured and interactive, making them equally effective for ongoing support.
I aim to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing skills, and making steady progress.

About my lessons
My lessons are structured, supportive, and focused on helping students build confidence and clear understanding. I work step by step, breaking down tasks and concepts so students know what they are doing and why they are doing it.
My methodology centres on clarity and critical thinking. Rather than memorising templates or rules, students learn how to approach writing and art practice in a way they can apply independently. I adapt each lesson to the student’s level, pace, and goals.
Lessons typically include:
Clarifying the task or learning objective
Breaking down questions, briefs, or concepts
Working through examples together
Drafting, editing, or developing work during the session
Identifying clear next steps for continued progress
I teach in English and am experienced in working with students for whom English is a second language. Explanations are adjusted to ensure understanding without rushing or overwhelming the learner.
My lessons are aimed at high school and university students who need support with English, academic writing, essays, creative writing, or art practice. I also work with art and design students on concept development, portfolio preparation, and reflective or artist writing.
All lessons are conducted online and in person and are tailored to the specific needs of each student.
