About Amirul Hakim

My name is Amirul. I hold a first-class honours degree in Accounting and Finance from LSE and have completed ACA and CFA qualifications. Currently, I work in an investment bank following four years at a Big 4 firm. My journey into teaching began when I noticed peers struggling with understanding concepts. Encouraged by teachers to assist my classmates, I found joy in helping others grasp difficult material—they quickly understood, and I enjoyed the process. This experience sparked my passion for teaching, which continues to drive me today. I understand the challenges students face, especially balancing university studies with job applications, and even more so when pursuing professional qualifications while working. I am here to support you in pushing yourself to achieve your potential. Alongside teaching, I am dedicated to practising Taekwondo and playing football, activities that keep me disciplined and well-rounded in both personal and professional aspects of my life. I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you succeed in your academic and professional endeavours.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach focuses on one-to-one sessions, allowing me to tailor and adjust my methods according to each student's needs. I specialise in breaking down complex materials to enhance understanding. Lessons typically last between 1 to 3 hours, depending on the student's preference. With over a decade of experience, starting from peer-to-peer teaching at age 16, I have seen my students achieve tremendous improvements in academic performance and other areas, such as job applications. I hold a first-class honours degree in Accounting and Finance from LSE, and I have completed ACA and CFA qualifications. My professional experience includes working in an investment bank and four years at a Big 4 firm. My notable student achievements include a student getting the highest score in finance for her year, students obtaining offers from firms like RBS, Lazard, Barclays, and numerous Big 4 offers, as well as a student becoming CFO of a startup. I offer lessons up to university level in most subjects like Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics etc. For professional and post-graduate level, I offer ACA, CFA, and MBA courses. Despite a busy career, my passion for teaching drives me to continue helping students excel.
