About William
I am a 6th year MD/PhD student studying cancer immunology. My undergraduate was at Cornell University where I majored in cell and molecular biology. This all means I have studied biology at every level for over a decade and that I am intimately familiar with what is needed to excel at each stage of biological learning. Whether that is preparing for high school AP exams, excelling in college coursework, acing the MCAT, studying for medical board exams, or submitting cancer-research papers for publication- I know what is needed at each step of a student's educational journey and how to help excel to reach the next level.

Learning biology is heavily contingent on a student's given learning style. For any student I teach- I would first identify their preferred learning style: Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, Reading/Writing. From there, I develop a plan to teach the information of that specific lesson in that style. What sets me apart is my deep passion for biological processes and how to relate them to real-world applications. I love boiling down a complex system to one or two key details- and using those details develop a scaffold for understanding how that system works. By emphasizing how even the most initially boring protein within a cell is translatable to anything from biomedical engineering technologies to cancer therapies- I strive to make my lessons engaging and thought-provoking- in order to both comprehensively teach the topic at hand while opening the door to big-picture thinking.
