About

Hi there, It’s a pleasure meet you! My name is Tamiya Jerome. I am 27years old, born and raised in South Africa and currently residing with my family in New Jersey.

I have an undeniable passion for children and education. I was an Au Pair for almost 3 years with which I was responsible for the teaching and guidance in completing any and all school work/homework , assignments and test and exam preparations with my Host Child - amongst many other responsibilities . I was able to bring her grade up from below average to straight A’s and on honor role throughout my time with her.

I also tutored throughout my high school career and during college.

I have studied Electrical Engineering for approximately two years and decided to take a break and travel, hence my being here.

I have since completed many courses upon arrival in the US, this being Psychosocial, Cognitive and Physical development of children. Diverse learners (in Child development) aswell as Child Growth and Family Development at LIU (both in person and online). I also have volunteered much of my time in Pre-Schools in South Africa as well as teaching foreign learners English during my stay in Johannesburg for a few months.

I have a love for the English language, Biology and the development of children and think i would be of great assistance in teaching your child(ren)!
