About Daniel

Hi, I'm Daniel, a UCT accounting student on the road to becoming a CA.

I'm a second-year student at the University of Cape Town, working towards my CA qualification. I'm originally from Port Elizabeth, and when I'm not studying you'll find me surfing, hiking, diving or camping.

I came to accounting from scratch. I didn't take it at school, so I had to learn it from the ground up at UCT, where the entire school curriculum was covered in the first six months. That experience taught me exactly where beginners get stuck and how to explain the fundamentals clearly, without jargon and without making you feel behind.

My approach is relaxed but focused. In our first session I'll find out where you're struggling, and from then on we'll spend our time on those areas rather than going over what you already know. Once the core principles click, the rest of accounting follows and starts to make sense.

About the lesson

Lessons built around you

Every student learns differently, so I don't use a one-size-fits-all approach. Each lesson is tailored to your learning style and focused on the topics you find hardest, whether that's journals, financial statements, reconciliations or something else.

I prepare carefully before every session, drawing on what I'm learning at UCT, the top accounting university in the country. That means no time is wasted: you'll get a focused, productive lesson every time.

My lessons are interactive. Instead of simply re-explaining what your teacher already covered, I'll get you working through problems and explaining concepts back to me, because that's how understanding really sticks. If something isn't clicking, we'll slow down and try a different angle until it does.

I'm flexible with content, so we can follow your school's syllabus, prepare for a test or exam, or go back and fix gaps in the basics. Lessons are in English, and I aim to keep them relaxed and comfortable so you feel free to ask questions without worrying about sounding silly.
