About Prayusha

Hi, I'm Prayusha! I’m a 2nd year Dental Student with a strong academic background in Maths, Biology, and Chemistry, and a genuine passion for teaching and supporting students. Previously, I’ve worked as a tutor with Explore Learning, where I’ve had the opportunity to help students of different ages and abilities build confidence and improve their understanding.

I’ve experienced tutoring from both sides — as a tutor and as a student who has been tutored. This has given me a clear understanding of what it takes to be a good tutor: patience, clear explanations, adaptability, and creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I know how frustrating it can feel to struggle with a topic, and I aim to make lessons encouraging and engaging.

As a dental student, I’m organised, hardworking, and used to explaining complex material clearly, skills I bring into every lesson. I truly enjoy helping others learn, and the most rewarding part of tutoring for me is seeing that “click” moment, when a student finally understands a concept they previously struggled with. Watching their confidence grow and knowing I’ve played a part in that progress is what motivates me most.

About the lesson

As a 2nd-year Dental Student with a strong background in Maths, Biology, and Chemistry, I bring both academic knowledge and hands-on tutoring experience to each session. My teaching approach focuses on helping students build a solid understanding of core concepts, develop problem-solving skills, and boost confidence.

Teaching Methodology:
I believe in a personalised approach, tailoring each lesson to the student’s unique learning style. I start with understanding how confident the student feels with each topic then breaking down concepts into simpler methods, using real life analogies to ensure better understanding. Once concepts are understood, we focus on practice through exam-style questions and past papers, ensuring the student can apply their knowledge confidently.

Therefore what I offer is:
• Clear, structured explanations
• Exam-focused techniques and problem-solving skills
• A supportive, judgement-free learning environment
• Proven tutoring experience with structured learning

Typical Length of a Lesson:
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, covering new material, reviewing previous topics, and practising exam questions. I am flexible with session lengths to suit the student’s needs.

Qualifications and Experience:
I have over a year of tutoring experience with Explore Learning, supporting students (up to 6 children at one time) across a range of abilities. I have also privately tutored KS2 students who achieved 101+ marks in every subject, exceeding the expected standard (greater depth). I achieved 9 GCSEs graded 9–6 (A–B)*, including Biology (9), Maths (8), and English Literature & Language (9, 8) and I studied Maths, Biology and Chemistry at A-Levels. My experience allows me to help students of all levels reach their academic goals.

My tutoring services are suitable for students at KS2, KS3 and GCSE, whether you want to improve grades, strengthen fundamentals, or prepare for exams! I understand what it’s like to be a student under pressure, I’m here to not only help make learning less stressful and more rewarding but also offer guidance on college choices and share insights particularly for students aiming for Medicine, Dentistry, or related healthcare careers.
