About June
June is a recent MFA graduate in Sculpture at UT Austin and a recipient of the College of Fine Arts Academic Excellence Continuing Fellowship Award in 2023. He has been featured in The Texas Daily, Oregon ArtsWatch, and Oregon Quarterly, and has exhibited in solo and group shows in Portland and Eugene OR, Seattle WA, and most recently Austin, Texas.

For the last nine years, I have been deeply invested in my artist career and have extensive experience in art show installation, curation, documentation, and professional practice. I am well equipped to teach professional practices in the art field on top of my foundational and technical art skills.
During my undergraduate and graduate studies, I have solely focused on developing my sculptural techniques, developing a robust understanding of building and fabrication processes, and material histories. My research and work has equipped me with a comprehensive knowledge of contemporary art practices, enabling me to engage students in critical discourse and provide them with a solid foundation of skills. At University of Texas, I assisted in the sculpture courses and gained vital hands-on experience in teaching and giving skills demonstrations.
My work branches from traditional sculptural techniques to experimental techniques that allow me to utilize materials from every medium in order to express deeply.
My experience as a drawing and painting faculty at Interlochen Center for the Arts and as a teaching assistant at University of Texas at Austin has allowed me to refine my pedagogical approach, tailoring my instruction to meet the diverse needs of students while prioritizing a safe learning environment.
In addition to my teaching experience, I bring a strong commitment to research, curation and professional development. As a practicing artist, I am passionate about deep diving into vulnerable concepts and presenting artists and works that all bring out the best in each other. This commitment to contemporary research not only enriches my teaching but provides my students with a modern and relevant educational experience.
I am passionate about community building and skills sharing, and I am particularly drawn to the mission of providing a transformative arts education that empowers young people to pursue their passions and make a positive impact on the world.
