About Tiara-Lee

My title is Ms Abrahams, I would like to be addressed as that.
Though it is a quite formal method to address me, I am your friend and not a master. In other words, I will teach what I know best and you are able to casually absorb and reflect.

Keep in mind that I do not possess any formal language qualification, however I am in the process of studying linguistic etiquette via online courses, books, and of course the internet.
I am self-taught and I possess excellent communication and literature skills.

I believe that no amount of time spent attempting to learn something is wasted. One is always guaranteed a mental investment when attempting to learn a new skill, even if it feels like it is in vain. Do not give up and reap the accomplishments of consistency and discipline.

About the lesson

I aim to teach English in a quite simplified method. I commence at basic rules and basic pronunciation, vowels and simple sentences, English based games and short stories to read. The amount of time spent on the foundation phase, depends on the student's understanding.

When the student has surpassed the basic level of understanding, speaking, and writing in English, we will then move onto a slightly more complex phase.

- The student will have to articulate certain scenarios in the form of literature and speech.
- Students must conduct research in English, and create conclusions or theories based off of research.
- Students must partake in communicative language activities.
- Students must partake in various online language activities.
- Students will have their progress recorded, analysed, and marked based off of criteria.

My method of teaching is quite basic and simple, but my passion is unique. I come from a land of eleven official languages, of which I only speak two. Those languages being English and Afrikaans. My experience as a South African, communicating on a daily basis with people who have African home languages, is educating on both ends. We subconsciously tend to exchange knowledge about one another's home language every day.

The dialect of English that South Africans use is based off of the United Kingdom's English. Students can expect to learn using my very basic methodology in this dialect.

My lessons are specifically aimed at primary and high school persons, ranging from the age group of 7-19 years of age. They may have little to no knowledge of ENGLISH. I am also willing to teach amateur level persons.
