About Xan
My commitment and passion for teaching as a vocation is showcased in the diverse and rich teaching experiences I’ve had; gaining a level 5 TEFL qualification, teaching at an international school with an international curriculum in Iraqi Kurdistan, developing my practice by being a TA and finally embarking on a 3-year teaching training programme in London. During these years, I have strengthened my teaching skills by doing a lot of private tutoring in the subjects of Geography, History and Politics from the ages of 10 to 18.
My previous students and tutees would describe me as a patient, passionate and engaging teacher, whose lessons simultaneously support those of the highest and lowest abilities.

My former students would describe me as a kind, patient and engaging teacher who uses a number of strategies to aid children's learning. My work as a teaching assistant allowed me to develop a wide range of skills to support those with special educational needs. My work as a Geography teacher at an inner city London school has equipped me with valuable methods to use in my lessons that simultaneously challenge the higher ability students whilst supporting the lower ability ones. I teach my subjects with passion, making my lessons engaging so as to motivate my students. I instil a positive belief inside my classes that the pupils can improve in the subjects and can develop their understanding.
