About Cameron
I am a 24 year old who graduated in the summer of 2020 with a first class honours degree in mathematics from Loughborough university. I want to help younger students develop their mathematics skills and pass the exams that they require to get to where they want to be in life.
I am not your “typical” maths student. I hold several interests outside of the subject mostly around sports. I have played football to a reasonable standard and actually went to America to play on a scholarship. I also play Cricket at a high standard and have spent a lot of time coaching both sports to all age groups from 5-18+. I have a very active social life outside of my work as well which helps me be more approachable and relatable to students.

I personally feel students benefit from a more informal/friendly relationship with a tutor as it makes them more comfortable to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes.
I firstly like to have a discussion with the student and ask them what aspects of their work they need help with. If they can bring homework/classroom tasks with them to tutoring session that is fantastic. If not I can also plan lessons/exercises to help them work through the aspects of their learning they feel they need to work at the most.
The key to tutoring in my opinion is communication between the student and tutor. It’s about working together to recognise weaknesses and turning them into strengths as well as being comfortable to be wrong and make mistakes but learn from those experiences and not make the same mistakes in the future.
