About Alina

I'm a 1st Class MSci Geophysics Graduate from Imperial College London. My academic performance has placed me in the top 10% of my cohort, earning a place on the Dean’s List in both second and third year. I was awarded the Outstanding Independent Project Prize for my BSc thesis on tectonics in the southwest Pacific, and I’ve been invited to present my Master’s research — focused on CO₂ reservoir pressure wave modelling, at international conferences in the USA and Norway. I have a strong foundation in both theoretical and applied geology, and a particular passion for fluid flow, geochemistry, seismology, and stratigraphy. I taught on Imperial College’s Geology Field Skills Week, helping first-year undergraduates develop core skills in mapping, lithological logging, and structural analysis. I was also selected to provide support across multiple Earth Science modules, including Maths Methods 1 and 3, alongside surface and physical processes, giving over 130 hours of university-level contact time. In addition to my academic teaching, I’ve delivered over 2,500 hours of private tuition across STEM subjects and specialise in helping A-Level and undergraduate Geology students improve exam performance and conceptual understanding. My approach is practical, exam-focused, and tailored to individual goals — tackling sedimentary logs, understanding igneous processes, or mastering geochemical cycles.

About My Lessons My geology lessons are structured to build deep understanding, boost exam performance, and help students become confident in tackling both theory and applied problems. Whether you’re preparing for A-Level or studying at university, I deliver lessons that are personalised, focused, and academically rigorous. Lesson Structure Each session typically follows a proven structure: Warm-up quiz or recap questions to consolidate previous learning Topic breakdown using diagrams, models, and worked examples Exam-style practice with a focus on writing techniques, command words, and mark scheme precision Targeted feedback and takeaways for independent revision Lessons are typically 1 hour, but I offer longer sessions for coursework help, mock exams, or deep dives into complex topics like geochemistry or tectonic modelling. Details

The rate for A Level Geology Online is £50 an hour. For in person in zones 1 and 2 I charge £70 an hour. For degree level, online lessons are £60 an hour, and in person in zones 1 and 2 is £80 an hour.
