About Walter
I'm a GCSE and A Level maths teacher who thoroughly enjoys the subject & imparting my subject knowledge. I want to help you develop your mathematical fluency and strategic thinking. Together we'll explore different ways of approaching and tackling mathematical problems. For example, Did you know that Pythagoras' theorem can be applied to football/sports and vice versa? This is just one of the ways you can develop your understanding of this concept. Students often struggle with maths because they are unable to make connections between new information and pre-existing knowledge; furthermore, new information is more difficult to retain if no connections to pre-existing knowledge can be made. However, linking mathematics to more common ideas such as sports, students can make connections more easily as they are more likely to have pre-existing knowledge of how a ball moves. Problem solving success lies in being able to break problems down to bite-size chunks before strategically making the neccessary connections for sucess. The only thing I'm more passionate about than problem solving is imparting knowledge.
