About Tom
I received a 1st Class Degree in Combined Studies (French, Classics and Film Studies) from Newcastle University.
Since then I have worked as a screenwriter for film and television. I have written screenplays for films that have received BAFTA awards, and successful romantic comedies.
I am now looking to diversify my working day by including some conversations with students who want to improve their spoken English.
I have a wide range of interests across art, sport, politics and the environment. I enjoy meeting interesting people from around the world and hope that my company - as well as my English speaking tutoring - will be beneficial to you.
Given my professional background, I will be able to offer specific advice to students looking to write for film or television, although that is not the main focus of these classes.

I am a professional writer and father of three teenage kids. I will engage you in enjoyable, informal and informative English language conversation at whatever level you feel comfortable with. Lessons can be 30 minutes or 60 minutes. Suitable for all ages and all skill levels. If we need to use some Google translate to get things going, then so be it!
