1590 SAT. 12 years of experience teaching. SAT average gains: +200; ACT: +4

My daughter was having difficulty with both test-taking and establishment tutoring options. It was important to find the right tutor for the SAT for her. With Chris, we're confident we made the right choice, and will be working with him more in the future.

Chris Morris-Lent has helped my kids with everything from Pre-Calc and AP World History to ACT/SAT prep. He has a unique skill set with expertise in a wide range of subjects, along with the flexibility to alter his teaching style to best suit the student. He teaches not only academic subjects but also test-taking and studying strategies to streamline the students’ workload and improve test scores. Chris has a very relaxed style, with professional, high standards (in both business and tutoring).

Chris is a great teacher. I have a son who is very capable of doing all of his schoolwork but was cutting corners, which caused him to fail at math. Chris figured out the problem and how to overcome it right away. Now my son enjoys school more and is getting A's!

I scored 155 on my GRE math practice test and panicked—I was a math major, and applying to Stats grad school! Chris tapped into the skills I thought I’d forgotten and I was able to get a score both I and my program were happy with.

Chris raised my son’s SAT math score by 150 points and gave him a better fundamental understanding of math at the same time. I no longer worry about how my son is going to do when he has to take a math course or test.

Chris has the right idea about math. My lucrative career as an actuary blossomed from a deep understanding of mathematics, a deep understanding that Chris demonstrates consistently. I can remember when math finally ‘clicked’ for me. I remember feeling so much regret at all the wasted time and emotion I had spent struggling in math courses up until that point. It can be so much easier. Anyone considering tutoring should definitely take the plunge. This guy gets it.

His expertise in math is impressive—he knows everything from basic algebra through advanced pre-calculus, and how to best present it. We’ve had the pleasure of getting to find this out by having him teach our entire family (ages 11, 13, 16, and 17), and are anticipating using him as an SAT tutor for our two oldest children this fall and the next.

Caitlin has been phenomenal! She is so incredibly patient with our 5yo and has done a great job teaching him the basics of the ukelele, considering how young he is and how "energetic". Mason adores her and is not getting more into the basics of music theory as well, as he continues to work with her.

Vincent has been great in helping me get back into piano after over 10 years of not touching it. Super convenient and flexible in working with my schedule!

I am working with John and very much appreciate how willing he is to take it slow, without making me feel like an idiot for being such a beginner. He's an excellent teacher who's easy to be with and knows his stuff. Highly recommend!

I have been taking piano lessons from Chris for approximately a year now and love it. As a 25 year old learning to play the piano from pretty much square 1 he has been an ideal fit- the antithesis of the intimidating hyper strict boring lady I remembered taking lessons from when I was six. Chris provides you with constructive feedback and helpful piano exercises which improve your technique and overall ability to play well. Also, thanks to his patience and guidance, he helped me learn a song I really wanted to be able to play even when it was kinda out of my league. Great dude. Great lessons. Great degu. yeah, he has a pet degu.

Exceptional teaching quality plus professional knowledge

Chris knows what he's doing. He quickly figured out exactly what needed work with my piano technique and came up with a lesson plan for drilling into the right habits. After a couple of months, I already am playing much more correctly, and better than ever before!

Chris is very smart and is able to provide expertise in almost all areas of school subjects, standardized tests, or music. He sometimes will go on track but in the end, when your paper is looked through by him, he will explain your mistakes and how to fix them. He will go through your mental process and teach how to solve concepts very well.

206 Tutoring was used to provide accompaniment to a violin recital. He was always prepared and on time. He did a phenomenal job giving my students confidence in performing and giving small suggestions to better improve the collaboration between parts. I would highly recommend 206 Tutoring and will be a repeat customer for further musical necessities.

I've been taking piano lessons with Chris for a little while now, and my technique and tone production has greatly improved!

Holy crap was Christopher a great tutor. I'm new to the piano and he's been phenomenal at helping me both improve my fundamental skills as well as ability to actually play. Would 100% recommend for anyone and will never use anyone else. A+++

Chris is a personal and professional delight to work with. You will learn; you will improve; you will enjoy yourself.

Chris was willing to take me on as a long-term project. My SAT score was lagging behind all my other academic achievements. Over the course of three months Chris not only taught me a large number of concepts per lesson, he gave me ways I could teach myself to improve in between lessons. The end result is that my score went up by 400 points. I'm now beginning my college application process with the most possible confidence. Thanks so much, Chris!

Excellent, flexible, amusing, entertaining, and effective piano teacher. My old teacher barely talked about technique at all, I've gotten much better since starting with Chris. Especially ecommended if you want to improve quickly.

We only had a few weeks to prepare for the SAT at the end of the year. Chris was able to accommodate our schedule and raise my daughter's score by 300 points. Well worth the investment!

Chris is an awesome math and SAT tutor! He's been tutoring our teenage daughter for a year in math, and recently started prepping her for the SAT as well. He relates well to teens, and he's great at honing in on whatever she needs help with in math. If you want to make math homework stress-free for you and your student, it's well worth the money!

Chris is an absolute master at explaining difficult concepts in plain language. His breadth and depth of knowledge is second to none. Additionally, he's personable and funny. I highly recommend him.

Mr. Morris-Lent helped me with my applications to get into NYU and The New School. I am pleased to say that with his help I got into both! He's a great writer and helps you put your thoughts onto paper. He has a pretty flexible schedule and makes time for you if you need it. All in all, he's a great tutor to hire. Thanks!
