About Sha'Myracle

I'm a motivated 16-year-old, currently in 12th grade, embracing every opportunity to learn, teach, and grow. As a young woman of color, I take pride in my identity and aim to break barriers through my achievements. My open-mindedness fuels my curiosity about the world, enabling me to explore diverse perspectives and ideas and share experiences with others. With a keen intellect and a passion for teaching, I'm excited to make a positive impact and contribute my unique voice to the younger children.

About the lesson

As a tutor, my teaching approach is student-centered, adaptive, and interactive. I aim to create a comfortable and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions and explore concepts deeply. My methods vary based on the subject:

Math: I begin by assessing the student's existing knowledge and identifying areas of struggle. I then break down complex concepts into simpler, relatable parts. Visual aids, real-world examples, and step-by-step problem-solving are integral to my approach. Regular practice exercises and targeted feedback help solidify understanding.

Biology: I foster curiosity by relating biological concepts to the students' everyday lives. Visuals, diagrams, and interactive simulations make abstract topics more tangible. I encourage critical thinking through discussions about biological phenomena, ensuring students understand the "why" behind processes.

English Language Arts: For language arts, I focus on improving reading comprehension, writing, and communication skills. I help students dissect literature for themes and literary devices, and guide them through the writing process by emphasizing brainstorming, drafting, revising, and editing. Discussions and debates promote critical analysis and expression.

Typical Lesson Plan:

Introduction: Reviewing the previous session's concepts and addressing any questions.

New Content: Presenting new material in a clear and relatable manner, incorporating examples and visuals.

Interactive Learning: Engaging students through discussions, interactive exercises, and hands-on activities.

Practice: Assigning practice problems or readings to reinforce understanding.

Discussion and Clarification: Addressing doubts and misconceptions that may arise during practice.

Summarization: Summing up the key takeaways of the lesson and connecting them to real-life applications.

"Homework": Providing assignments that encourage independent thinking and practice.

I tailor my teaching techniques to match each student's learning style and pace, I connect concepts across subjects, showing how math, biology, and language arts intersect in the real world and I prioritize building students' confidence and encouraging them to ask questions without hesitation. This goes for elementary, middle school, and high school students
