About Krishna

Hi, I'm Krishna! I am a Data Science Master's student with a foundational background in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo. I have 5+ years of experience tutoring various subjects (Math, Physics, Chem, Business). I am a huge fan of learning things, and tutoring allows me to learn through the best method there is — teaching.

During my undergraduate studies, I had the privilege of diving into advanced mathematics, where I discovered the inherent beauty of the field and its vast applications. Beyond mastering formulas, these experiences fundamentally sharpened my analytical rigor and problem-solving intuition.

I believe mathematics is the ultimate toolkit for effective thinking. The discipline required to craft a rigorous proof directly translates to building persuasive arguments in humanities; similarly, the ability to deconstruct complex analytical models is the same skill needed to tackle intricate problems in physics and engineering. My goal as a tutor is not just to help you pass an exam, but to help you hone your critical thinking skills and transform the way you approach complex challenges.

By bridging the gap between abstract theory and practical application, I aim to empower you with a logical mindset that serves you far beyond the classroom.

About the lesson

Are you or your child struggling to see the point of Math?

I have been tutoring for over 5 years. I am a Masters student in Data Science with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics.

When I started my undergrad, I’ll be honest—I didn’t know where it was leading. For the first few years, I was confused about how these abstract courses would ever transfer to real life. It wasn't until my final semesters where I realized that Math isn't about memorizing formulas; it's about learning how to think.

Once I realized that math connects to almost everything we do, I developed a genuine passion for the subject. Now, I use those skills daily to solve complex problems in Data Science, and aim to cultivate that same passion in my students.

My Teaching Philosophy: I aim to share this passion with my students so they don't have to feel lost like I did. My goal is to move students away from rote memorization and towards becoming critical thinkers and problem solvers.

When a student understands why a concept works, they retain the knowledge and ace their tests with ease.

Courses I Tutor: I offer tutoring for many university level courses. I also specialize in the Ontario High School Curriculum, specifically for Grades 11 and 12 where students often hit a wall:

Calculus I, II, III (Differential, Integral, Multivariable Calculus etc.).
Linear Algebra.
Discrete Mathematics.
Probability/Statistics.
Grade 12 Calculus & Vectors (MCV4U): Limits, Derivatives, and Vectors.
Grade 12 Advanced Functions (MHF4U): Polynomials, Trig, and Logarithmic functions.
Grade 12 Data Management (MDM4U): Probability and Statistics (My specialty given my Data Science background).
Grade 11 Functions (MCR3U/MCF3M)
Grades 9 & 10 Math (MTH1W/MPM2D)
