About Wenna

Hello, my name is Wenna!
I was born and raised in Chicago in the United States and am currently living in Taipei, Taiwan.
I have over 6 years experience teaching English in the U.S. and Asia, online and offline.

I am also TEFL/TESOL certified where I can teach English as a second and foreign language. I have taught a wide range of students including young children, high school and college students, working professionals, and adults of all ages.

My classes include open conversations and discussions, conversation role-playing, article discussions and readings, writing practice, and culture exchange.

During my free time outside of teaching, I love exploring and being creative. One of my biggest passions is traveling. As a travel enthusiast, I love exploring new places and cultures and sharing my travel experiences with others. Photography and video creation are my other passions. I enjoy documenting moments and experiences and sharing them through videos & photographs. I also love writing and have written and published articles on different lifestyle topics. I also enjoy music, coffee, and going to art events in my city. I'm currently living in Taiwan with my husband and we love exploring food, travel, and cultures together.

I hope that my students will find learning English a well-rounded experience that is both fun and productive. I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you in your learning journey!

About the lesson

I'm a very friendly, approachable, and patient teacher. I'm a native English speaker from the US, but I also speak Cantonese and Mandarin as well, so I can understand some struggles that students may have when learning English as a bilingual speaker.

I try my best to create a comfortable, relaxed, and welcoming space for you to learn and express yourself.
Through open discussion and conversation, we can talk about a range of topics allowing you to practice conversational English, listening skills, and also gain more confidence by speaking more. I will also help you to improve your pronunciation, grammar, and phrasing to help you sound more natural when speaking English in daily life scenarios.

Besides speaking, I can also help you with your reading comprehension and vocabulary by discussing written articles together. Since I'm also a writer, I can also help you improve your writing skills and practice using correct spelling and grammar when writing English.

I’m also a traveler who loves exploring, so my classes can also be a place where we can share our cultures with each other and learn more about the world. If you have any particular areas you would like to improve in, let me know and we can explore that as well!
My classes will be a space where you will find learning English to be both fun and productive.
