About Silvana
I've been teaching Spanish for over 30 years. I taught in high schools in Argentina, and in Italy in language schools and privately to adults, children, teenagers and university students. I helped middle and high school kids with their lessons. I taught the language to beginners and experienced people, and helped college students prepare for DELE and learn the basics of the language before leaving for Erasmus.

In my classes I always speak from the beginning in Spanish, even though the student is a beginner. Speaking slowly and with the right words, even those who have never approached the Spanish can understand and immerse themselves fully into the language atmosphere. This is very much appreciated by my students. Being native speaker to speak in Spanish is natural to me, also because it's the language I speak everyday with my family. If I really need it, I certainly have a parenthesis in the student's language. I also try to stimulate the student to express himself in Spanish. I do not conceive that a person can learn a language by talking in other language! With my future students, before the first lesson, we agree the method they prefer: with or without grammar, just conversation, with or without the supportof a book, etc. I always provide the necessary material for the lesson and eventual exercises. During lessons I include different material to make them interesting: songs, videos, reading of news articles, etc. In addition to teaching the language, I do translations and work as an interpreter.
