About Swara
I am a recent college graduate from American University in Washington DC. I majored in International Studies and minored in Spanish Language and Area Studies. During my junior year, I studied abroad at UCL in London as an Affiliate Student in their School of European Languages Culture and Society (SELCS), focusing on classes pertaining to Spanish Literature, Culture, and Politics. I have been a volunteer dance teacher for 7+ years, with significant experience teaching a wide variety of people from young children to adults. I'm fluent in 5 languages, and currently in the process of learning 2 more. I love to learn languages, and love to teach them and share my knowledge even more:)

For first-time students, I like to first assess their level and accordingly base my lesson plan to be best suited for them; whether it be more writing-reading focused or speaking focused. This includes using either more literary-based or audio-based, even visual-based learning techniques and devices (comprehension passages, movies, audios, etc.) I also am very attuned to/open to feedback; I always make sure that my students are able to keep up with my pace, if not, then I will make sure to adjust my teaching so that they are able to keep up and still be challenged.
Overall, I strive to create a very fun and relaxed, yet professional learning environment so that everyone feels comfortable and excited to learn! Come prepared and ready to learn, and we will have an amazing experience:)
