About Brian

Hi, my name is Brian; and like you, I too am currently a student. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Applied Statistics at the University of Cape Town. Being a student myself , I understand how frustrating it is to be unable to grasp a concept despite your teacher's numerous attempts to explain it. This is where I can assist you because I can provide you with an outlook and perspective that your teacher cannot. I have over six months of tutoring experience in high school Mathematics, Physics, Accounting, and Computer Applications Technology since beginning my university career. Finally, I believe that as a tutor, my role is not to teach you how to memorize or what to do in a particular situation, but rather my job is to equip you with the critical skill of how to learn and educate yourself.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I want to help my students by sharing my personal experiences and the problems and issues I faced as a student, which I felt my teachers were never able to understand. Furthermore, I will strive to teach and explain concepts to the best of my ability using problems that students will encounter in an actual test or examination. In terms of the language of instruction, I will be able to provide lessons in English. Students can expect a free-flowing but focused lesson in which we will openly discuss relevant concepts and tackle problem questions that get to the heart of any issues a student has with a specific concept. My lessons are intended for students who have a basic understanding of the problem concept but need a better or more complex breakdown to improve comprehension.
