When it comes to history, it can be boring at times. That is why, I enjoy connecting history to current events or pop culture. For example, connecting the books/films of Harry Potter to World War II, and seeing all the kids eye spark up when they start seeing the connections. But most importantly, this will help develop their critical thinking skills. Besides learning facts and dates, it is of high importance that the children learn how to think critically. This way students are able to formulate their own unique ideas.
